A delegation from the International Women's Peace Group (IWPG) met with Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) CEO, Getnet Tadesse in Addis Ababa and conferred on ways of cooperation.

The meeting focused on promoting peacebuilding activities and exploring potential collaboration between the two organizations.

The IWPG delegation, led by Global Region 2 Director Seo-yeon Lee, introduced the organization's work, including its participation at the UN Commission on the Status of Women (CSW) and its visit to the Ethiopian Embassy at the UN.

The discussion between the two also highlighted the media's crucial role in peacebuilding efforts, leading to a promising agreement for future collaboration between IWPG and EBC.

"Peace is paramount," stated EBC CEO Genet Tadesse. "EBC prioritizes peace in its broadcasting, and we fully support IWPG's peacebuilding activities."

IWPG, a women-led NGO with special consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), works tirelessly to safeguard lives from the devastation of war and promote peace for future generations.

Headquartered in Seoul, Korea, IWPG collaborates with over 110 branches and 660 partner organizations worldwide to advance peace initiatives.

It was revealed that the meeting paves the way for continued collaboration between EBC and IWPG, fostering a stronger media presence for peacebuilding efforts in Ethiopia and beyond.
