Ethiopia re-opens its embassy in Asmara after two decades.

EBC; SEPTEMBER 06, 2018)  -  Ethiopia has re-opened its embassy in the capital of Eritrea, Asmara after two decades of closure.

Prime minister Dr. Abiy Ahmad, Eritrea President Isayas Afewerkiand and other diplomatic community attended the re-opening ceremony today.

Ambassador, Redwan Hussien who has been assigned as Ethiopia’s Ambassador to Eritrea will serve as representative of the country in Asmara in the coming years.

Based on the comprehensive peace and friendship accords that have been signed between the two sisterly countries, Eritrea had also re opened its embassy already in last June in Addis Ababa. 


Ethiopia and Eritrea have renewed their commitments to enhance economic and trade bilateral cooperation that includes use ports for mutual benefits.
