Ethiopian re starts flight from Addis Ababa to Mogadishu after 41years

(EBC; November 9, 2018)  -- Ethiopian Airlines launched the first direct passenger flights between Addis Ababa and Mogadishu after 20 years.


The flag carrier had stopped the flight before two decades due to security concerns in Somalia.


The re launching of the flight helps to connect Somalia with the rest of the world, the airline's chief executive Tewolde Gebremariam said at the ceremony.


It will also contribute to rebuild Somalia and strengthen relationship of the people of both countries he added.
