Long-serving government officials retired

(EBC; June 8, 2018) - The government of Ethiopia yesterday announced that it has retired two officials who served for log period of time in different positions.

Abadula Gemeda and Ambassador Girma Birru are the officials whom the government has retired effective from yesterday.

Prior to his retirement, Abadula Gemeda has long served as speaker of the House of People’s Representatives. He also served as president of Oromia regional state.

The other retiree, Ambassador Girma Birru has served as Ethiopian ambassador to the U.S, minister of trade and industry, state minister of finance and economy as well as defense.

Meanwhile, former Generals Alemeshet Degefe and Asaminew Tsige, who were recently released from jail, got their striped ranks returned and retried with all benefits.
