Ethiopian Religious Leaders Advocate for Dialogue, Peace

Ethiopian religious leaders are urging the nation to embrace a culture of dialogue as a primary means to resolve differences and prevent conflict. This call for peace comes from a recent initiative coordinated by the Inter-Religious Council of Ethiopia Assembly.

Sheikh Haji Ibrahim Tufa, President of the Ethiopian Islamic Affairs Supreme Council and a representative of the religious leaders, detailed their recent visit to Mekelle in the Tigray region. During their visit, the delegation engaged in discussions with Lieutenant General Tadesse Werede, Chief Administrator of the Tigray Interim Administration, his leadership team, and other regional stakeholders.

Sheikh Haji Ibrahim stated that the religious leaders stressed the importance of peaceful resolution for all disagreements and expressed optimism that stakeholders would commit to resolving issues through constructive engagement. according to ENA, he further emphasized the Inter-Religious Council of Ethiopia Assembly's ongoing commitment to fostering a dialogue-driven approach to conflict resolution throughout the country.
