Ethiopia's Green Legacy Movement, a seven-year initiative, has garnered significant international recognition, extending its influence beyond national borders to the continent and the global stage. It now stands as a model for many nations.

ETV 57 News recently featured the Green Legacy Movement, hosting Ethiopian ambassadors and representatives from various countries to discuss its impact. Ambassador Legesse Geremew, Ethiopia's Plenipotentiary Ambassador to Nigeria, emphasized the profound global impact Ethiopia is forging through the nationwide implementation of the Green Legacy. He further noted that Nigerian Vice President Kashim Shettima has expressed his government's deep admiration for Ethiopia's community-driven Green Legacy initiative, highlighting its success in inspiring the Nigerian populace.

From Pakistan, Ambassador Jamal Baker, Ethiopia's Plenipotentiary Ambassador, also underscored the extensive international reach of the Green Legacy Movement, affirming its influence well beyond its regional origins. Ambassador Jamal, recalling Pakistan's recurrent struggles with floods, shared that the Ethiopian embassy in Pakistan organized a Green Legacy program to demonstrate a practical solution, thereby sparking a local movement. He also revealed ongoing efforts to encourage Pakistan's adoption of the Green Legacy Movement, aiming to strengthen bilateral cooperation between the two nations.

Solomon Mamo, Chargé d'Affaires in South Sudan, detailed the tangible benefits of the Green Legacy. Since its launch, the initiative has successfully curbed land erosion and provided a sustainable solution for food self-sufficiency. According to him, the Juba Embassy has now conducted the Green Legacy program for the fourth time in South Sudan, underscoring that the benefits of the Green Legacy extend beyond Ethiopia to its neighboring countries.
