Mayor Adanech Abiebie announced today that the Arada Luxury Mall, set to be Ethiopia's inaugural luxury shopping destination, is progressing swiftly and to high standards. The project is anticipated to significantly elevate Addis Ababa's position as a globally competitive city.
The Mayor, following a visit to the construction site, underscored the mall's importance in transforming the capital into a prominent commercial and entertainment center. She noted that after years where Addis Ababa's name outshone its development, projects like this are vital to create a more livable and prosperous urban environment.
This public-private initiative, currently 92% complete on its structural work, is also a significant job creator, employing over 1,200 individuals. Investor Manaye Sendeku emphasized the project's broader meaning beyond just revenue, seeing it as a key part of the city's ongoing modernization. The mall's strategic location further enhances its impact, integrating with major urban development initiatives, ENA reported.
