"Providing effective and efficient services to the public are among the responsibilities and duties of the government," stated President Taye Atske-Selassie on Wednesday. Emphasizing the critical role of accessible services, he added, "Service delivery is among the requirements that will determine the credibility of the government."
President Taye made these remarks during his visit to the recently inaugurated Mesob One-Stop Service Center in Addis Ababa. He highlighted that "The launch of One-Stop Service enhances the overall services provided to the public."
Accompanied by members of the diplomatic community based in the capital and heads of international organizations, the President toured the new facility. According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, State Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Hadera Abera and Ambassador Berhanu Tsegaye, were also part of the delegation.
The Mesob One-Stop Service Center represents a significant step in the government's initiative to digitally integrate public services. This new hub brings together 12 institutions under one roof, offering citizens access to a wide array of over 40 different services. The primary objective is to streamline processes, minimize the time individuals spend navigating various government offices, and significantly improve service efficiency and accessibility.
During the visit, Ambassador Siraj Rashid, Director General of Consular Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, provided a comprehensive overview of the services available to citizens and explained the operational procedures now in place within the Ministry at the center.
Officials reiterated that efforts are actively underway to further modernize and enhance service delivery at the Mesob Center, with a focus on ensuring services are comprehensive, fast, and aligned with current technological advancements. The center is poised to play a key role in the nation's broader digital transformation efforts to improve the citizen experience.
