Ethiopia's "Made in Ethiopia" movement, launched three years ago, is driving significant progress in the country's manufacturing sector, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed announced when he officially opened the Made in Ethiopia Expo 2025.
The Prime Minister highlighted encouraging developments resulting from the initiative. He specifically noted a substantial increase in industrial production capacity over the past three and a half years, rising from 46 percent to 61 percent.
The "Made in Ethiopia" movement aims to bolster domestic production, enhance the quality of Ethiopian goods, and promote both local and international markets for products manufactured within the country. The reported increase in production capacity signals positive momentum in achieving these goals.
