In the men's 5000m race held in Shanghai, athlete Berihu Aregawi claimed a commanding victory, crossing the finish line in a time of 12 minutes, 50 seconds, and 45 microseconds. The strong Ethiopian presence continued with athlete Kumma Girma finishing second and athlete Mezgebu Sime securing third place, completing an impressive 1-2-3 sweep for the nation.
The success extended to the men's 3000-meter steeplechase, where Athlete Abraham Sime also triumphed, winning his event.
On the women's side, Athlete Tsige Duguma showcased her form by winning the 800-meter race at the same Shanghai meet. Tsige finished with an impressive time of 1 minute, 56 seconds, and 64 microseconds, marking a best time performance for her.
