Addis Ababa University Graduates Urged to Be Problem Solvers, Not Blame-Finders

Graduates of Addis Ababa University should prioritize solving problems over assigning blame in their professional lives, urged President Taye Atske Selassie at the university's recent commencement ceremony.

Addressing the new graduates, President Taye extended his congratulations, marking the day as the "beginning of a new journey" for each individual. He highlighted Addis Ababa University's long-standing tradition of fostering knowledge and producing numerous accomplished individuals, noting its role as a "Knowledge Citadel" that has welcomed not only Ethiopians but also students from across the globe.

The President acknowledged the university's consistent efforts to disseminate knowledge within the community, despite facing various challenges. He also emphasized the institution's historical contribution in shaping many influential thinkers who have played significant roles in Ethiopia's history, stressing the importance of continuing this legacy.

President Taye then offered crucial advice to the graduates: regardless of where they seek knowledge or explore the world, they must always put Ethiopia first. He cautioned them about the complexities of the world they are entering and encouraged them not to be overwhelmed by its challenges.

He concluded his remarks by reiterating his core message: graduates must become solution-finders for Ethiopia's challenges by actively solving problems and not succumbing to difficulties or focusing on finding blame.
