Donald Trump won the New Hampshire's GOP primary, defeating Nikki Haley paving ways for this year’s election scheduled to be held on Tuesday, November 5, 2024.
In the primaries so far, he's the first non-incumbent GOP candidate in the modern era to win both the Iowa and New Hampshire contests.
CNN reported that Trump won the primary on Tuesday, beating out former South Carolina Governor Haley in a one-on-one matchup.
Trump’s last remaining GOP challenger, Nikki Haley, congratulated him on his victory.
"This race is far from over," she told supporters at a post-election party in Concord, challenging Trump to debate her. "I'm a fighter. And I'm scrappy. And now we're the last one standing next to Donald Trump."
As thousands gathered in Nashua to cheer him, Trump commenced his address by ridiculing Haley, labeling her as an "imposter" and remarking, "She's delivering a speech as if she emerged victorious."
"She's doing, like, a speech like she won. She didn't win. She lost ... She had a very bad night." His remarks followed a series of angry posts on his Truth Social app, denouncing her as "DELUSIONAL." Trump chastised her.
The former 45th US President was the third president in U.S. history to be impeached by the U.S. House of Representatives and the only president to be impeached twice—once in 2019 (he was acquitted by the U.S. Senate in 2020) and once in 2021.
According to CNN exit polls, GOP primary electorate was relatively closely divided between voters registered as Republican and those registered as undeclared, the state’s term for independent voters.//
