A large number of members of the second-generation Ethiopian Diaspora are coming home following a call by Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed.
Last year, on 23rd December, the Premier called on the second-generation foreigners of Ethiopian origin to come home in three phases until September 2024.
So far, over 74,000 of these diaspora members have accepted the call and visited their ancestral homeland in the first phase alone which was carried out under the motto “Connect to Your Culture.”
Ethiopians in the diaspora, who are coming home for Easter holiday, have also arrived in Addis Ababa this morning.
Senior government officials have welcomed the diaspora members upon their arrival at the Bole International Airport, ENA reported.
