Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has extended the appointment of Lieutenant General Tadesse Worede, President of the Tigray Regional Interim Administration, for one year effective from  April 9, 2026 G.C. The Prime Minister extended the appointment in accordance with Article 62(9) of the FDRE Constitution and Article 14, Sub-article 2(b) of Proclamation No. 359/1995. 

The decision to have the Lieutenant General continue leading the Tigray Inclusive Interim Administration as Head of Government was made pursuant to Article 4(2) of the Council of Ministers Regulation No. 479/2013 regarding the Tigray Regional Inclusive Interim Administration and based on the evaluation of the annual performance report submitted.
