The second annual Ethiopian Trade Week is set to take place at "Quality Village" from August 30 to September 4. The event, which will be an exhibition and bazaar, aims to promote domestic goods and will feature 168 businesses under the theme "Buy Ethiopian."
According to a state minister, the main goal of the trade week is to showcase the quality and competitiveness of Ethiopian products and to encourage a culture of using domestic goods. The official explained that buying local has many benefits, including reducing imports, narrowing the trade deficit, creating jobs, and strengthening the country's revenue collection capacity.
Organizers stressed the significant social and economic importance of buying Ethiopian products and urged the community to do their part by supporting local businesses. The event will include panel discussions and offer consumers the chance to buy agricultural and other products at prices lower than the market rate.
The state minister extended an invitation to the business community to participate and display their products, and encouraged the public to attend the exhibition and bazaar.
