Colombia Opens Embassy in Ethiopia

Colombia has officially opened its embassy in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Colombian Vice President Francia Márquez inaugurated the new embassy during her official visit to Ethiopia. The opening ceremony was attended by Ethiopia's State Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Gedeon Timothewos, along with other high-ranking officials.

During the event, Dr. Gedeon praised Vice President Márquez for her strong commitment to strengthening the ties between the two nations. According to Nebiat Getachew, spokesperson for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the new embassy will significantly deepen the relationship between Colombia and Ethiopia.

Previously, Ethiopia managed its relations with Colombia through its embassy in Brazil.

While in Addis Ababa, Vice President Márquez also held discussions on various issues with Prime Minister Dr. Abiy Ahmed.
