Ethio telecom on Thursday welcomed a high-level delegation from Saudi Telecom Company (STC) to discuss a potential strategic partnership. The visit, led by STC's Vice President of Sales Carrier & Wholesale, Engr. Ziad Hamad A. AlHasson, aimed to explore new areas of collaboration and expand existing business ventures.
The meeting, chaired by Ethio telecom CEO Frehiwot Tamru, focused on leveraging the strengths of both companies to drive digital transformation and economic growth. Both parties expressed interest in expanding digital infrastructure, enhancing wholesale business cooperation, and integrating digital financial services.
A key point of discussion was the collaboration between Ethio telecom’s telebirr platform and STC’s STC Pay platform. The goal is to improve cross-border payments and remittances, creating more value for customers.
The STC delegation praised Ethio telecom's recent performance and its role in advancing Ethiopia’s digital transformation. The two companies believe that by combining their resources, they can create new opportunities in fintech, remittances, and other digital solutions, ultimately promoting digital inclusion and innovation.
