Ethio Telecom has announced a special offering for the historic inauguration of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), allowing the public to watch the ceremony live and for free.

The national telecommunications provider stated that the completion of the years-long project is a moment of victory for the nation. To mark the occasion, the live broadcast of the inauguration on EBC (Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation) will be exempt from internet data charges.

The historic inauguration, which represents the realization of a long-held national dream, is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, September 9, 2025.
