Today, Pagumen 4, 2017 E.C., is dubbed the "Day of Revival" for Ethiopia. On the occasion, Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed asserted that the nation has embarked on a journey of economic renewal with no intention of turning back. In a public message, the Prime Minister underscored the critical role of sustainable development in achieving national prosperity.
"Ethiopia has risen," PM Abiy stated. "This journey of revival must be supported by sustainable economic growth."
The Prime Minister outlined key sectors that will spearhead this growth, emphasizing the need for continued excellence in mining, tourism, agriculture, manufacturing, and the ICT sectors. He stressed that generating wealth and collecting revenue are fundamental to financing the nation's progress.
"We must properly collect and save the income and wealth generated by our growth to achieve our goal of prosperity," he added.
According to the Prime Minister, the ongoing macro-economic reforms will serve as the engine to propel the country forward. He affirmed that by accelerating and successfully implementing these reforms, Ethiopia's current revival will be solidified into long-lasting prosperity for all.
