Ethiopia Showcases Rich Culture at Moscow’s Philharmonic Hall

Ethiopia’s renowned cultural troupe, Ethiopia Rising, a part of KIN Ethiopia, has performed for the second time at the prestigious Philharmonic Hall in Moscow. The troupe captivated the audience with a colorful blend of tradition, music, and dance.

The event drew a diverse audience, including Russian officials and citizens, diplomats, ambassadors, and members of the Ethiopian diaspora living in the Russian Federation. Guests were warmly welcomed with a traditional Ethiopian coffee ceremony, allowing them to savor the unique flavor of Ethiopian coffee before the performances began.

Opening the program, Nefisa Almehadi, State Minister of Culture and Sport, highlighted the long-standing cultural ties between Ethiopia and Russia and wished everyone a joyous Ethiopian New Year. She also congratulated Ethiopians and friends of Ethiopia on the successful completion of the Grand Ethiopian Renaissance Dam (GERD), a national milestone.

The cultural program featured a variety of artistic performances that thrilled the audience and showcased Ethiopia’s cultural richness alongside a nod to Russian heritage.

The evening, organized by the Ministry of Culture and Sports, the Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and the Ethiopian Embassy in Moscow in coordination with Shakura Production, left participants with lasting memories and underscored the role of culture in bridging people and nations.
