Leaders and members of the Addis Ababa City Peace Army have pledged to ensure the upcoming Meskel Demera and Irrecha festivals are celebrated safely and with great fanfare. Their goal is to prevent any security issues and allow the events to proceed peacefully.

Members from all of the city's sub-cities recently held a meeting to coordinate their efforts. The discussions focused on how to maintain security and uphold the religious and cultural values of the festivals. Participants emphasized that these celebrations are crucial for building a positive image for both Addis Ababa and Ethiopia as a whole. According to Medekssa Kebede, Deputy Head of the Addis Ababa City Peace and Security Administration Bureau, the Peace Army is making a significant contribution to the city's overall security by safeguarding local communities.
