Residents of Addis Ababa have emphasized the importance of utilizing religious values to foster unity and enhance the city's image.

This statement was made as residents participated in a cleaning initiative at Meskel Square, the central venue for the upcoming Meskel Demera holiday celebrations.

Participants highlighted that the celebration of religious values and traditions should be leveraged to strengthen communal bonds.

Engineer Wondimu Seta, Chief City Manager of Addis Ababa, who holds the rank of Deputy Mayor, addressed the gathering. He underscored the Meskel Demera holiday's status as an international event and its significant role in promoting the city's image.

He further noted that various preparations are underway to ensure a peaceful and vibrant celebration.

The cleaning program was attended by city administration officials, religious leaders, and artists.
