A high-level Algerian business delegation, led by prominent figures in water treatment and construction, is preparing to travel to Ethiopia to explore significant investment and trade opportunities. The move comes after a fruitful meeting with Ambassador Muktar Mohamed, where the focus was on importing key Ethiopian agricultural products and fostering a new era of business collaboration.
The delegation included Habib Merabet, CEO of the wastewater treatment company ENVIROSTEP, and Temam Mohamed Munir, President of the Algerian Association for Heritage, Environment and Human Development, a firm involved in producing construction materials. Representatives from SARL UNIQUE YOU, a company specializing in business development, were also present.
During the discussion, the Algerian officials expressed strong interest in both importing Ethiopian sesame and other oilseeds and investing in the country's growing economy. They also raised the possibility of technology transfer and providing training to their Ethiopian counterparts, signaling a partnership that goes beyond simple trade.
Ambassador Muktar underscored the profitability of investing in Ethiopia, outlining the country's favorable business environment. He pledged the full support of his mission to facilitate their ventures. As a next step, the delegation plans to visit Ethiopia soon to get a first-hand look at the available commercial opportunities, with a follow-up meeting already scheduled to advance the discussions.
