Magnitude 4.6 Earthquake Strikes Ethiopia

A magnitude 4.6 earthquake was reported near Debre Sina, Ethiopia, in the early hours of Friday, August 8, 2025. The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) confirmed the quake.

The tremor, which occurred last night at 7:18 AM local time(Ethiopian clock), was felt in several surrounding towns, including Abomsa, Awash, Kobo, and Robit. Residents in some parts of the capital, Addis Ababa, also reported feeling the shaking on social media.
