Ethiopian Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) today expressed his satisfaction with the Hawassa Industrial Park's new solar panel production facility, which he visited as part of a tour.

The prime minister recalled that the project stemmed from a prior agreement made during his visit to the Vietnamese Toyo solar panel factory and a meeting with the company's president. The Hawassa facility is equipped with a state-of-the-art machine system capable of high-quality, high-volume production. Officials anticipate the output will significantly boost the country's manufacturing exports.

During his visit, Prime Minister Abiy noted that two more solar panel factories are currently under construction. He praised the initiative, stating that it aligns with the nation's investment strategy to focus on value-added, "game-changing projects" that support Ethiopia's long-term economic goals.
