U.S. Ambassador to Ethiopia Ervin Massinga has affirmed the United States' commitment to working in close cooperation with Ethiopia to ensure regional peace and stability. Speaking at the International Parliamentary Information and Security Forum held in Addis Ababa, Ambassador Massinga emphasized the necessity of strengthening security collaboration to address East Africa’s challenges. He highlighted that tackling complex issues—such as terrorism, transnational security threats, and human trafficking—requires robust institutional cooperation and consistent information exchange.
According to the House of Peoples' Representatives, the Ambassador underscored that the strengthening of security institutions is a fundamental pillar for ensuring sustainable peace for both Ethiopia and the wider region. Furthermore, Ambassador Massinga reiterated the United States' interest in deepening its long-standing partnership with Ethiopia, particularly in the technology and security sectors, while committing to greater transparency and accountability in their collaboration.
