Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has issued a solemn appeal to the nation on the eve of Ethiopia's historic National Dialogue, calling the upcoming process a new chapter that will determine the destiny of current and future generations.
In his message, the Prime Minister described the dialogue as far more than an ordinary political forum. Addressing citizens committed to lasting peace, stability, and comprehensive prosperity, he declared that "the opportunity is here, and the time is now."
Drawing a historical parallel to the Battle of Adwa, where forebears fought for the nation's freedom, sovereignty, and honor; PM Abiy stated that Ethiopia is once again calling upon its people to shoulder a historic responsibility. However, he drew a stark contrast to the conflicts of the past.
"Yet in this moment, our country does not seek those who bear rifles," the Prime Minister said. "Rather, it seeks champions of peace and people equipped with maturity of thought, truth, knowledge, and steadfast determination."
Expressing confidence that the nation stands on the eve of a great victory, PM Abiy declared that the triumph of Ethiopia and its peoples is inevitable. He concluded his message by affirming that the country will overcome all of its challenges and advance toward prosperity through civilized discourse, peaceful dialogue, and national consensus.
