On the sidelines of the African Union Special Leaders' Health Summit, Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen Tiruneh met with Ghanaian President John Dramani Mahama at Jubilee House to discuss bilateral relations and shared continental issues.

During their discussion, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that Ethiopia places high value on its historic and strong diplomatic ties with Ghana, which have endured since the origins of the Pan-African movement. He also highlighted that the completion of the new Ghanaian Embassy building in Addis Ababa stands as a symbol of the unwavering friendship between the two nations.

For his part, President Mahama noted that Ethiopia continues to uphold its position as a symbol of African independence and unity. He expressed deep admiration for the encouraging transformations and achievements Ethiopia is currently realizing through the Green Legacy Initiative and other development sectors.

President Mahama commended Ethiopia’s ongoing preparations to host the 12th Tana Forum, while Deputy Prime Minister Temesgen extended sincere appreciation to the President for his outstanding leadership on the forum’s board.
