Ethiopia is set to become the epicenter of global supply chain and strategic connectivity as it hosts a massive continental Logistics and Communications Symposium, beginning today and running through August 1st. The high-stakes gathering will convene representatives from 40 countries alongside 26 international industry partners to address the evolving complexities of global movement and digital infrastructure.

During a joint press conference held to inaugurate the proceedings, military and logistics leaders emphasized the strategic necessity of the forum. Major General Teshome Gemechu, the Director General of Defense External Relations and Military Cooperation, stated that the event serves as a critical platform for fostering multilateral cooperation and enhancing regional stability through improved logistical frameworks.

Providing a strategic perspective from a global standpoint, Brigadier General Powell Flick, the Director of Logistics at the United States Africa Command (AFRICOM), noted that the symposium represents a vital opportunity to align international standards with local operational needs.
