Ahead of China’s upcoming BRICS chairmanship, the TV BRICS International Media Network and China's state news agency, Xinhua, have officially expanded their strategic cooperation in mass communications. The agreement, signed during the SCO Media and Think Tank Summit in Bishkek by TV BRICS CEO Janna Tolstikova and Xinhua Vice President Xi Yanchun, will focus on co-creating media content, providing mutual coverage support during high-level state visits, and training media personnel.

The timing of this expanded partnership aligns with both China’s preparations to chair the BRICS group and the 95th anniversary of Xinhua News Agency. Editorial coverage will prioritize core BRICS agenda items during China's chairmanship, focusing on the economy, finance, global security, science, technology, and cultural exchange. Representatives from both sides emphasized the importance of using journalism to bridge cultural divides, objectively cover national developments, and promote multilateralism and equality on the global stage. According to TV BRICS, this agreement builds on TV BRICS' existing relationships within the country, as the network already collaborates with over a dozen other Chinese media outlets and higher education institutions.
