Ideas are born, they grow, they serve their purpose, and eventually, they age. It is a natural cycle. While some profound concepts transcend time and remain brilliant across eras, others are simply dead on arrival. Time has always marched forward. It never pauses, and it certainly never moves backward. Just as no one can return to their childhood no matter how much they might yearn for it, it is impossible to fight time or reverse history. You cannot pour new wine into an old wineskin without it bursting. Even if past generations and outdated ideas temporarily find an audience and receive applause, the natural truth is that a new generation, armed with the realities of its own time, will ultimately triumph.
The illegal TPLF, however, stands in complete denial of this reality. Clinging to a half-century-old, destructive ideology that was doomed from the start, it still tries to manipulate today's generation. This faction has survived by passing down a recycled socialist manifesto from generation to generation, playing the same destructive tune decade after decade. It is entirely dependent on a fabricated narrative of friends and enemies. By using fear, conflict, and bloodshed to ensure its own survival, this destructive force has failed to produce a single new idea in over fifty years.
It attempts to control the people of Tigray by paralyzing them with a false, victimhood narrative that they are surrounded by enemies who hate them, hoping to profit from the resulting division. To think that in our modern, technologically advanced world, this group believes it can govern an awakened generation with such a stale mindset is nothing short of delusional.
The signs of this destructive pattern are obvious. The group constantly manufactures enemies to present itself as a savior in an endless cycle of war. While using the people of Tigray as a shield and accusing others of being fascists and dictators, its true motive is clear. Behind the mask of lies a deep greed to protect narrow group interests and hoard wealth at the expense of the public’s suffering.
For fifty years, its wickedness has also shown through its attempts to forcefully tie its fate to the people of Tigray. By claiming that an attack on the group is an attack on the people, it tries to force the public to share the burden of its historic crimes and stolen wealth. This only proves its deep-seated contempt for the very people it claims to represent. It is a deceitful faction whose words never match its actions. On one hand, it sends the impoverished youth of Tigray into the line of fire, while on the other, it smuggles the region's wealth to line its own pockets.
But times have changed. The people and the youth of Tigray have realized the group's true nature. Standing in solidarity with their fellow Ethiopians, they are finally throwing off this outdated burden. The era of manipulating a new generation with false narratives is over. The youth of Tigray are determined to end this deception once and for all, proving that time does not move backward, and a generation is never defeated.
Throughout our country's long history, the people of Tigray have paid an immense price for peace, justice, freedom, and the unity of Ethiopia. Deeply understanding the true meaning of patriotism, they have always stood as fierce guardians of the nation's sovereignty. Yet today, these great people who have sacrificed so much are paying a bitter price at the hands of their own children. Like a mortar pounded by its own pestle, they are being mercilessly battered by those who claim to represent them but instead conspire with foreign enemies.
Because of the TPLF's malicious actions, the mothers of Tigray are once again forced to weep and live in constant fear. At a time in their lives when they should be finding comfort in their grown children, they are instead plunged into an endless cycle of grief. These weary mothers have been robbed of the very children they nurtured, losing them to an entirely pointless cause.
This destructive force views war and bloodshed as the only solutions, treating peaceful dialogue as a sin. Trapped in a political mindset that has not evolved, it continues to destabilize the region with the same old paranoia of being surrounded by enemies. Still clinging to an antiquated narrative of oppressors and the oppressed, it routinely sacrifices the youth of Tigray simply to keep itself relevant. Incapable of fostering development or solving real socio-economic problems, the group preaches toxic hatred. It prepares the youth only for death, delivering devastating news to mothers instead of solutions for their homes.
In stark contrast, the federal government continues to demonstrate a genuine commitment to peace. Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed recently reaffirmed before Parliament that the government remains willing to engage in dialogue with anyone for the sake of the country and its people. Yet, these calls for peace are met with silence from the group. They will never stop using the public as hostages, thriving on conflict to serve their own interests, unless they can regain absolute power.
Despite this, the dark era is finally coming to an end. The people of Tigray clearly understand that no good can come from a group that trades in their blood. The unwiped tears of Tigray's mothers will undoubtedly be dried, and the youth will soon break free from this relentless cycle of death to finally breathe the air of peace.
