The Ethiopian public has demonstrated its unity and strength in practice during the single-day tree planting campaign, announced Minister of Agriculture Addisu Arega. As of 4:30 PM, 765.7 million seedlings had been planted out of the 800 million single-day target.

In a statement on the program's execution, the Minister noted that the day clearly showcased the capacity of the Medemer administration, marking a historic occasion where citizens proved their collective strength. Across the countrywide push, 278,000 hectares of land were covered with seedlings by late afternoon alone.

Reflecting on the country's record of creating history through past Green Legacy initiatives, Minister Addisu remarked that today's unified effort wrote yet another remarkable chapter. He added that the multi-purpose seedlings planted will play a substantial role in accelerating Ethiopia's broader economic growth.
