Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) met with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi during his first official visit to India to exchange views on strengthening the bilateral partnership between the two nations.

Their discussions focused on deepening practical cooperation and expanding opportunities across several key sectors, including defence cooperation, technology transfer, capacity building, mining, and joint efforts heading toward COP32.

Highlighting the deep historic ties, longstanding cultural connections, and strong people-to-people bonds between India and Ethiopia, Prime Minister Abiy noted that much of the potential between the two countries remains untapped. 

The PM stated that the time is right to translate their shared history and goodwill into a more ambitious, mutually beneficial partnership grounded in technology, skills, investment, sustainable development, and stronger community ties.
