The President of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia, Taye Atske Selassie, held extensive bilateral and regional discussions with United Nations Secretary-General António Guterres.

During their meeting on the sidelines of the ongoing 81st United Nations General Assembly in New York, the two sides primarily deliberated on peace and security in the Horn of Africa, as well as ways to strengthen regional connectivity.

In the meeting, UN Secretary-General António Guterres praised Ethiopia's encouraging achievements in sustainable development and confirmed that the UN will render all necessary comprehensive support for the historic 32nd International Climate Conference (COP32) to be hosted by the country.

In a message posted on his social media account, President Taye Atske Selassie noted that his discussion with the UN Secretary-General aimed at ensuring lasting peace, security, and development in the region, while elevating mutual cooperation to a higher level.
