Modern brick homes built for families displaced by landslides in the Gamo Zone of the South Ethiopia Region were officially handed over to their new owners today.

Constructed in Delbo Kebele under the Birbir City Administration, the housing units provide secure shelter for 100 households, directly benefiting 595 family members who were relocated from Gacho Baba Woreda.

The handover ceremony was attended by high-ranking regional and zonal leaders, including Dr. Demise Admasu, Deputy Chief Administrator of the South Ethiopia Region and Head of the Labor and Skills Bureau.

Rooted in the region's rural transformation strategy, the new residential settlement serves as an essential component of comprehensive recovery efforts designed to restore long-term stability and improve the livelihoods of affected community members.
