Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed (PhD) has officially presented a slate of executive and cabinet nominations to the House of Peoples' Representatives. The proposed appointments assign several individuals to key leadership roles across the federal government.
Leading the list of nominations presented to the parliament is Temesgen Tiruneh, who has been put forward by the Prime Minister to serve as Deputy Prime Minister. Alongside this senior administrative appointment, Dr. Fitsum Assefa was presented to the legislative body as the nominee for Minister of Finance.
The Prime Minister also established his proposed leadership for vital social and developmental sectors. Professor Berhanu Nega has been officially nominated to serve as the Minister of Education, while Dr. Mekdes Daba was presented to the House as the candidate for Minister of Health.
Frehiwot Tamiru was nominated to take on the role of Minister of Innovation and Technology. Additionally, Prime Minister Abiy presented Selamawit Kassa to lawmakers as his chosen nominee to lead the Ministry of Culture and Tourism. PM Abiy has also put forward other nominees as well to fill out the remaining federal ministerial posts for the incoming government term.
