Ethio Telecom has launched its new three-year strategy, "Next Horizon," signaling an ambitious plan to expand its market beyond Ethiopia's borders. According to CEO Frehiwot Tamru, the company is actively working to enter and compete in the technology markets of other countries.
Speaking at the launch event held at the Science Museum, Frehiwot emphasized the strategy's goal of positioning Ethiopia as a competitive player in the global digital technology sector. She stated that the "Next Horizon" strategy is designed to align with the nation's broader development plans and policies.
The CEO highlighted that the new strategy will be human-centric and will focus on the practical implementation of emerging technologies. Frehiwot explained that the new strategy has six key focus areas. These include digital technology, artificial intelligence, financial continuity and stability, efficient and proactive operations, and serving with a sense of responsibility and integrity.
Frehiwot's remarks suggest a new direction for the state-owned telecom giant, moving from a purely domestic focus to a more outward-looking, globally competitive enterprise.
