Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed today announced on X (formerly Twitter) the early morning kickoff of this year's one-day #GreenLegacy planting campaign. The ambitious goal for this, the 7th year of the initiative, is to plant 700 million seedlings across Ethiopia.

In his tweet, PM Abiy urged citizens to participate, stating, "We kicked off this year's one-day #GreenLegacy planting early this morning. Our goal for the 7th year is 700 million seedlings. Let's achieve it together!"

The Green Legacy Initiative, launched in 2019, aims to combat deforestation, restore degraded land, and enhance environmental resilience in Ethiopia. It has garnered international recognition for its massive tree-planting efforts, with over 40 billion seedlings planted nationwide since its inception.
