True to its name, which translates to "New Flower," Addis Ababa continues to reinvent itself, captivating world leaders, international tourists, and global digital figures. Joining a growing list of high-profile visitors to the Ethiopian capital, renowned Emirati digital creator Khalid Al Ameri has voiced deep admiration for the city's modern infrastructure developments and rich historical landmarks.

With a global audience exceeding 16 million followers across social media platforms, Al Ameri, who enjoys massive popularity in the United Arab Emirates and the broader Middle East, visited several landmark destinations during his tour of Ethiopia, including the historic city of Harar and the Adwa Victory Memorial in Addis Ababa.

Upon his arrival at the Adwa Victory Memorial, Al Ameri was warmly received by Dr. Yosef Beco, Director General of the Adwa Victory Memorial, alongside senior institutional officials. Following an extensive tour of the facility, the Emirati influencer described his experience as "extraordinary and unforgettable," noting that the site offered him profound insights into the secret behind the indomitable spirit, unity, and resilience of the Ethiopian people.

Highlighting Ethiopia's unique historical legacy as the only African nation never to be colonized, Al Ameri stated that the Adwa Victory Memorial stands as a powerful monument to the heroism that preserved the country's sovereignty.

Reflecting on the historical significance of the 1896 Battle of Adwa, Al Ameri noted, "This monument behind me tells the story of how Ethiopia overcame colonial ambition. In 1896, Emperor Menelik II assembled nearly 100,000 patriots, unifying the nation to defeat invading forces during an era when European powers were partitioning the continent. Ethiopians stood firm with a resolute message: 'No, we are going to stand here, we are going to fight, and you are going to leave.'"

Examining the monument's intricate sculptures and artistic depictions, Al Ameri pointed out how the artwork captures the essence of national solidarity. "If you look at the sculptures, one soldier is picking up another to symbolize unity, that they never let each other go, stood together, and fought. It reflects the timeless truth: united we stand, divided we fall."

Concluding his visit, Al Ameri urged international travelers and tourists heading to East Africa to make the Adwa Victory Memorial a mandatory stop on their itineraries.

The visits by internationally renowned personalities like Khalid Al Ameri provide a golden opportunity to promote Ethiopia's positive image, showcase its rich cultural heritage, and bolster the economic footprint of the national tourism sector on the global stage.
