Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation CEO to Visit Ethiopia to Meet Leaders, Partners Addressing Health Challenges

CEO of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Mark Suzman, will visit Ethiopia to meet with and learn from foundation partners and grantees working to address health challenges and create economic opportunities.

During his visit, which will occur between April 22 and April 26, 2024, Suzman will engage with a diverse array of stakeholders.

He is expected to discuss with government officials, donor organizations, civil society groups, scientists, young entrepreneurs, frontline healthcare workers, and innovators.

According to a statement issued by the foundation, it aligns its work in Ethiopia with the government’s priorities, particularly focusing on gender equality – including maternal and child health – as well as education, agricultural productivity, financial inclusion, and sanitation.

The Foundation believes that solutions to Africa’s greatest challenges can come from within Africa.

The Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation has committed more than USD7 billion through 2026 to support African countries and institutions working to develop and implement innovative approaches to confront hunger, disease, gender inequality, and poverty.
