Lake Dembel, a picturesque natural wonder and a significant contributor to the beauty of Batu city, is rapidly gaining recognition as a thriving tourist destination. Spanning an impressive 440 square kilometers, the lake is home to several large islands, making it a unique attraction in the region.

A recent segment on the "Saturday Look" destination program offered an in-depth look at Lake Dembel, highlighting its remarkable features. The lake encompasses five distinct islands, each housing ancient churches that safeguard sacred artifacts and various historical relics, offering visitors a glimpse into the rich cultural heritage of the area.

Beyond its historical significance, Lake Dembel boasts incredible biodiversity. The islands are a sanctuary for over 256 bird species, complemented by other stunning ecological features that collectively enhance the lake's appeal as a must-visit location for nature enthusiasts.

The growing popularity of Lake Dembel is evident in the increasing number of visitors. Guests from various surrounding areas, as well as local residents, flock to the lake for leisure and relaxation. A unique culinary experience awaits them, with freshly prepared fish, caught directly from the lake, served in diverse ways around its shores.

Significant developments along the shores of Lake Dembel have further boosted its appeal. The construction of various restaurants catering to visitors, alongside dedicated walking and cycling paths, has created a welcoming and convenient environment for tourists.

Sultan Nura, head of the Batu City Tourism Office, confirmed the surge in tourist traffic, attributing it to concerted promotional efforts. "We've been actively marketing this incredible destination through various print advertisements and media outlets," Nura stated, "and these efforts are clearly yielding positive results with a notable increase in tourist flow."
