The Ethiopia-Kenya Joint Ministerial Commission Meeting began Monday in Addis Ababa after a seven-year hiatus due to a variety of reasons, Ethiopian ministry of Foreign Affairs announced.
In his opening remarks, Director General of African Affairs at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ethiopia, Amb. Fiseha Shawel, stated that the meeting will help to strengthen bilateral relations between the two countries.
He stated that the commission has helped to resolve outstanding bilateral and regional issues while also improving each country's political, economic, and social interaction.
Head of the Kenyan delegation, Amb. Moi Limoshira, on his part praised the long-standing positive relations between the two countries.
The commission will discuss common agenda items, such as political, economic, and social issues, during its three-day meeting.
