Stakes are mulling over affairs of the Horn of Africa, particularly focusing on foreign policy.
Underway here at Skylight Hotel along the Africa Avenue, the venue is expected serve as platform for the generation policy directions to tackle challenges facing the Horn of Africa.
Organized by the Institute of Foreign Affairs (IFA) the second dialogue series on the Horn of Africa is being held in Addis Ababa. Attended by Jaefar Bedru IFA's Executive Direcor, Misganu Arega State Minister for Foreign Affairs, researchers and government officials.
In his keynote address to the gathering, Executive Director of the IFA articulated the opportunities and challenges of the Horn of Africa uploaded the conference for its viability to create awareness and embrace policy directions for the immense and critical challenges of the horn. According to the executive director political instability, conflicts, drought and pirecy are top most security challenges of the region.
Ethiopian State Minister for Foreign Affairs, Misganu Arega expounded on the wide range consequences of the security challenges facing the Horn of Africa. Misganu who described the Horn of Africa as a gateway to the Middle East and geopolitically and economically important region, also called upon stakes to enhance collaboration to address the root causes of conflict and to foster peace and stability.
The dialogue series is being held under theme ” Navigating the Complexities: Fostering Regional Security in the Horn of Africa.”//
