Ethiopian Council of Ministers Adopts Export Trade Tax Incentive Amendment Draft Proclamation

Ethiopian Council of Ministers adopted Thursday export trade tax incentive amendment draft proclamation.

The council also examined and passed other bills during its 31st regular session.

The export trade tax incentive amendment draft proclamation was prepared to boost up foreign currency earnings necessary for industrial development and investment, overcoming obstacles to encourage investors in export business, and enhancing competitiveness through the establishment of a system that rewards sector’s key actors.

The amendment proclamation was referred to the House of People’s Representatives.

A draft health policy was also discussed and got approval by the council. This is an alteration to the existing health policy which has been on use for about three decades.

The council deemed the policy shift necessary given the socio-economic and demographic dynamisms as well as changes in the health system locally and globally.

Agriculture and Rural Development Draft Policy as well as a bill on Cooperative Commission Service Charges were discussed, adopted and referred to the House of Peoples Representatives.
