Ethiopia has reflected its stance regarding issues that will enable an agreement to be reached at the concluding 30th UN Climate Change Conference (COP30).
Speaking at the forum, the State Minister of Planning and Development, Seyoum Mekonnen, stated that Ethiopia has executed massive activities that serve as solutions to climate change and will continue to strengthen these efforts.
"Africa is not just a victim of the problem; it is also the source of the solution."
Noting this, the State Minister remarked that Ethiopia has been at the forefront of executing the initiatives it championed in this regard.

Green Legacy &Energy: Ethiopia is working to increase its forest coverage to 30% by 2030 and is significantly accelerating its energy transition to build a carbon-free economy.
Urban &Economic Resilience: The integrated corridor development work is transforming cities. Additionally, the country is building a climate-resilient economy by ensuring food security and increasing productivity.
Global Recognition: He noted that the world expressed its appreciation for these measures by selecting Ethiopia to host the 32nd UN Climate Change Conference.
He expressed that Africa confirms its readiness for action through these and similar endeavors.
Recalling that the 2nd Africa Climate Summit was conducted with great success, the State Minister confirmed that Ethiopia is already prepared to successfully host the 32nd UN Climate Change Conference. He added that it is right and appropriate for the conference to come to Ethiopia, a country that has proven Africa is part of the solution.
In his speech, he emphasized that financial support essential for implementation must be applied in a timely manner to achieve the goal of limiting the global temperature rise to between 1.5 and 2 degrees Celsius.
He called for Brazils COP30 to be a platform where action is reflected rather than grievance, and justice is served rather than delay. He confirmed that Ethiopia is ready to discharge its responsibility, just as it has done so far.
The conference, currently taking place in Belém, Brazil, is expected to announce its main resolutions in the coming days.
