Dr. Girima Amente, Ethiopia's former Minister of Agriculture, has been named the new Permanent Representative of the African Union to both the United Nations and the World Trade Organization in Geneva.
The Ethiopian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed its admiration for the decision made by African Union Commission Chairperson Mahmoud Ali Yusuf. The appointment is seen as a significant acknowledgment of the crucial role Ethiopia plays in representing Africa on the international stage.
