The Ethiopian National Dialogue Commission delegation has concluded a series of constructive discussions with members of the Ethiopian diaspora in South Africa, successfully collecting agenda items for the upcoming national dialogue.

A delegation of five commissioners met with hundreds of Ethiopians and people of Ethiopian descent. Dr. Yonas Addaye, a commissioner for the National Dialogue Commission, told the Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation (EBC) that the participation of the diaspora is a crucial step toward an inclusive national dialogue.

More than 300 individuals attended the agenda-gathering forum in South Africa, where representatives to participate in the dialogue were also selected. The commission emphasized that collecting agenda items at both regional and federal levels aims to foster a culture of democratic discussion and peaceful conflict resolution.

"The discussion in South Africa showed us that it is possible to resolve differences in ideas, perspectives, and politics peacefully through the national dialogue process," Dr. Addaye stated.

The commission announced plans to hold similar agenda-gathering forums in North America, Canada, the United Kingdom, Sweden, and Dubai in the near future.
