National Bank of Ethiopia Governor Eyob Tekalign (PhD) has held discussions with Zein Zeidan, Director of the IMF Africa Department.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the 2026 IMF and World Bank Group Annual Meetings currently being held in Bangkok, Thailand.

The discussion centered on Ethiopia's macroeconomic reform agenda. It provided an opportunity to evaluate recorded progress, exchange perspectives on recent economic developments, and deliberate on ways to strengthen and sustain ongoing reforms.

The talks also emphasized creating conditions to reinforce macroeconomic stability and achieve sustainable and inclusive growth.
