Ethiopia’s ruling Prosperity Party has reaffirmed its full commitment to implementing the outcomes of the Second African Political Parties Summit and called on other participants to show the same dedication.

In his closing remarks at the summit, which concluded today, Prosperity Party Vice President Adem Farah said the adoption of the Addis Ababa Declaration provides a common direction for the deliberations. He stressed the need to translate the agreed outcomes into practical action, noting that an implementation and reporting pathway would enable participating political parties to assess progress, share experiences and account for their collective efforts at the next summit.

Adem stated that the Prosperity Party is fully committed to the summit’s outcomes and expects other parties to demonstrate equal dedication in order to give lasting substance to the agreements reached.

He also congratulated the newly elected leadership of the African Political Parties Initiative (APPI) and reaffirmed the Prosperity Party’s commitment, in its capacity as Executive Secretary, to promoting inclusive cooperation and advancing the initiative’s shared objectives. Sustained cooperation among African political parties, he underscored, remains essential to advancing the continent’s shared aspirations.

The Vice President expressed appreciation to the African Governance Center, the African Union, participating political parties, partners, organizers and volunteers for their contributions to the success of the summit.
