The Industrial Parks Development Corporation (IPDC)is prepared to plant over 1.3 million seedlings as part of this year's Green Legacy initiative.
Dr. Fisseha Yitagesu, CEO of the IPDC, today launched the Corporation's 7th round of the Green Legacy initiative at the Kilinto Special Economic Zone, alongside Dr. Zeleke Temesgen, Commissioner of the Ethiopian Investment Commission.
During the event, Dr. Fisseha Yitagesu stated that in previous years, the Corporation has participated in the Green Legacy initiative by cultivating and planting seedlings within the special economic zones and industrial parks it manages. He added that the IPDC has also supplied seedlings to various institutions and city administrations for planting.
This year, over 1.3 million seedlings are prepared to be planted across ten special economic zones, two industrial parks, and the Dire Dawa Free Trade Zone.
Pawlos Belete, Head of the Corporate Communications Department at the IPDC, stated that the Corporation has independently prepared over 10 million seedlings within the parks and special economic zones it administers. He indicated that in addition to cultivating and planting these seedlings, the IPDC is distributing them to institutions in the surrounding areas.
He further noted that this effort will help the Corporation strengthen its focus on environmental protection, according to FBC.
